Once again we fielded two teams: Panthers & Jaguars. Both teams played their best yet and showed great progress from the start of the season with some excellent passing and running. Both teams played two games.
The Panther's first game started badly with OLs going down 3 - 0 but they showed great resilience and came back to finish with a draw. We nearly won when Zac Parker crossed the line but was barged into touch-in-goal by the opposition - Ref !
The Panther's second game was not so close losing 3 - 7
The Jaguars tried very hard in their first game but were slightly outplayed by a stronger team, losing 3 - 6.
The Jaguars played equally hard in their second game holding the opposition to a 2 - 2 draw.

Following last weeks heroics against Leamington OL’s had a turn out of 22 for the home fixture against Old Sills. The visitors beaten in the corresponding fixture last year arrived with a very strong squad. OL’s played mixed experienced teams to give all the boys a fair run out. In the first game OL’s were out muscled in the first half and turned round 21-0 down. After a half-time pep talk the boys lead by strong attacking from Stelios Tziirki put in a good performance holding their line and eventually scoring a well deserved try finished by Toby Whelan to go down 21-5.

Old Silhillians arrived with an organised and well drilled team who played well from the outset. In all, three games were played. Throughout the matches OL’s demonstrated some excellent passing and running resulting in some exciting tries being scored. Special mention should be made of the try ‘hat-tricks’ from Lewis King and Benedict Lloyd both of which capped some good team work. Overall Old Sils were stronger in their support play and defence, this making the difference in the final results.

OLs welcomed a strong squad from Sils on Sunday, for an eagerly anticipated contest against traditionally strong opponents.
With our visitors travelling with a squad of 20 plus, an extra pitch was marked, giving all the players plenty of game time.
On Pitch 1, OLs hit the straps from the first whistle and dominated all aspects of the game, scoring at regular intervals throughout. The scoring was led by a Sam Beards hat-trick, with a double from Kieran Brophy, and a try each from Callum Dixon and Will Fawcett. A consolation try for Sils, meant the final score was 35 - 5.
Meanwhile on Pitch 2, OLs were thwarted by a dogged Sils defence initially, and only had an Alex Smith try to show for early pressure. However a sublime break from Will Button at scrum-half, and a second from Alex, eased OLs to a 15 - 0 win.
After a ten minute break allowed players, coaches and spectators to regain their breath, battle recommenced.
