Old Leams made the short journey to a revamped OW's, looking to prolong their excellent start to the 07/08 campaign. The game did look in doubt with no signs of an official referee, but luckily a schools ref from Warwickians kindly put himself forward, and into the firing line.
The visitors made a rather sluggish start to the game, with a few
handling errors and strong opposition defence keeping the scores level
within the first 15 minutes. A neat chip from fly half Mark Foley gave
talented winger Jack Secher a chance to run at the opposition,
eventually offloading to centre Malc Boyd to run in under the posts.
Foley adding the extras.

Old Leamingtonians
continued to make good progress in the opening games of their Midlands
Championship 2 league campaign, by securing a good win and a bonus
point.
OLs soaked up a lot of
pressure from Lutterworth in the first 20 minutes. Lutterworth had a
strong pack, which tested OLs defence and stamina.
The first break came in the 24th
minute where OLs dominated a driving maul; this gave the opportunity
for Celina Bennett to take the ball on before passing back in to
flanker, Janine McComisky, who touched down for the first try of the
match.
Four minutes later,
Christie Foster did an 8 pick-up off a 22 metre scrum and passed it off
to scrum half, Charlie Graham to take OLs into double figures.

Old Leamingtonian Ladies 1st XV won 29-5 at the Crofts on Sunday against Longton showing their improved form in the 1st league match of the season. OL's ladies set the pace of their first game in Midlands 1 from the outset & scored within 6 minutes. Returning scrum half Charlie Graham controlled a driving maul & took the ball over the line for the first score.
The trust within OL's showed when on their own try line with Longton pressuring every bit of the width of the pitch, desperate for the try, they could not penetrate. The strong defence paid off & OL's turned the ball over with captain Danni Benge at 10 sending the ball into touch.
