The weather held good for another weekend, allowing both sides and a generous number of supporters to enjoy another day in the sun.
For the first ten minutes it is fair to say that there was only one side in it. Daventry scored two quick tries, showing some slick handling skills across the park and finding the weak spots in the OL’s defensive line. Credit must be given where it is due; Daventry were the deserved leaders.

A welcome and deserved win for OL’s 3rd XV. OLs enjoyed a strong first half with good interplay between backs and forwards orchestrated by skipper Lester Hunt.
No 8, Amarjit Atwal, was outstanding with three tries; one well worked up the blind side, one from a 5 metre scrum and the third a wonderful surging run from his own 22.

Following a succesful joint training session, Old Leams and Southam played a trial game against each other. The game was split into three 20 minute segments, the emphasis being placed on coaching the new rule variations.

With the scheduled League fixture postponed OL’s drew a pool fixture with the far more experienced Lions team, some players having National League experience. This was apparent from the speed and quality rugby they displayed. After 10 minutes OL’s found themselves 31 points in arrears, four flowing tries having been scored. The opposition number 9 was exceptional and proving difficult to deal with.
