OLs were one of the best represented clubs at this weekend’s annual Festival of Beach Rugby, held at the Lusty Glaze Beach Resort, in North Cornwall on 28/29 August. No less than four teams journeyed south from the Crofts, including the Comets Girls, the U13s ‘Pink Panthers’, the Lads and Dads’ Flaming Comets, and a combined Mini and Junior Team, ‘Making Waves’.

Last Sunday Old leamingtonians ladies faced Lichfield II's away for the teams first game sinc December due to bad weather. Despite a persistent attack and good decision making from fly half Danni Benge the team failed to make anything from it.

Result Old Leamingtonians Ladies 5 – Nottingham BC 33 Date Sunday 01.11.09 Old Leamingtonians Ladies welcomed a new opposition to the Crofts on Sunday and in spite of a solid effort only managed to get 5 points on the board.

Old Leamingtonian’s Ladies faced a team of Old girls at the Crofts on Sunday 6th September and played a match in honour of Janine McComiskey’s retirement. After 13 years playing rugby, Janine’s retirement spurred on the ladies to organise a testimonial match. The day saw the OLRFC Comets tag team warm up the crowd with a game against Old Saltians.
