OLs U10s made the short journey to Broadstreet on Sunday. Following an impeccably observed minute's silence to mark Remembrance Sunday, OLs split into two mixed squads to face Street in typical autumnal conditions - cold, wet and windy!
OLs got off to the worst possible start in match 1, as Street scored with their first attack through a limp defence. This seemed to be the jolt that OLs needed, as their forwards got to work, dominating at the breakdown, and winning every scrum. This led to two tries by Will Button from scrum-half and two from ace mauler Sennen Scobie. The impetus was maintained after half-time as Street tired, allowing a hat-trick score from Button, and tries from Sam Beards, James Mc Sharry and Jack Nixon. OLs came out on top by 40 - 5.
In the return match, Street put out a much larger pack, and, as a result, the breakdown and set piece was an exciting contest. OLs were in no mood to step off the gas though, and score through Josh Allen and George Hawkes in the first half. A period of Street pressure was justly rewarded with a try, but this served to rattle OLs cage, and they replied with further scores from Jack Firth, Kieran Brophy and two from the rampaging Callum Dixon, ending winners by 30 - 5.

OLs Under 10s travelled to Kenilworth on Sunday for the Warwickshire and West Midlands qualifier of the Leicester Tigers Prima Cup. The prize at stake was a knock-out match at Welford Road before the Premiership game against Harlequins in late November.

The squad travelled to Alcester chomping at the bit to play their first full contact match, their enthusiasm matched only by the support of their parents on the touchline, and neither were disappointed. Three matches resulted in 2 OLs wins in the full games and a draw in a short game at the end.
The highlight of the morning was the strength in the tackle of the whole squad from the tallest to smallest. One bone crunching hit from new recruit Luke Green would have been felt back at The Crofts - other tacklers worthy of praise were Cameron (new pair of shorts please dad !) Jessamine and Sam Farrow.
Rory Holland proved that he is the Dean Richards of the squad ripping the ball from the Alcester players in the maul like an enraged gorilla, a splendid site to see.Twinkle toes Alex Witchell was slow to start but once he had space, his step of his right foot wouldn't have been out of place on the hallowed turf of Twickenham.
A splendid effort for every player resulted in 3 tries for Tom Fawcett and a try apiece for Kai Bailey, Benedict Lloyd, Sam, Alex and Rory.
This season is going to be fun, well done all.

Sunday November 23rd at the club from 10.00am
The gum shield is the most important piece of equipment a rugby player should own.
The gum shield not only protects your teeth and gums, it can reduce damage around the jaw and your chances of getting concussed.
As every mouth is different, so every gum shield should be moulded to fit perfectly around the top half of a player's mouth.
The best way of doing this is to see your local club dentist, who will make sure the shield is right for your mouth.
Roy Dixon, Dentist of this parish, will be available at the club to take impressions for perfectly moulded blue-and-gold gum shields.
£25 cash for complete piece of mind
