The Old Leamingtonians Under 13's travelled to Worcester RFC on another pleasant sunny Sunday with a team of 14 players.Another match of David v Goliath.
The OL's boys were considerably smaller than the Worcester lads yet from the first whistle it was clear that despite being a man down the determination and controlled aggression of the OL's side was a shock to Worcester. The OL's competed in every facet of the game and excelled in the ruck area. The OL's were able to win every ball on the floor situation due to their far superior technique, and in the set scrum they won all but 1, with Hooker Micky Putt striking against the head and even pulling ball back from under the opposing second row. The backs made their tackles and ran straight and hard. The team played with a controlled aggression throughout with forwards podding in the backs and backs rucking and mauling as forwards when required. Old Leamingtonians ran in 3 unanswered trys and have regained their discipline and believe in themselves. Final score Worcester 0 - Old Leamingtonians Under 13's 15 |
