Old Leamingtonians Vets travelled to Trinity Guild to play their 2nd XV. This being the second Saturday in a row that the Old Leams Vets have faced a 2nd XV, it is to their credit that they are able to compete with such youthful opposition. In sunny yet blustery conditions, it rapidly became obvious that the Vets would be spending much of the game taming the younger opposition from Trinity. Trinity Guild scored two well worked trys in the first half, whilst the Old Leams Vets battled gamely to stay in the game through a very strong defensive game plan. The second half saw the Vets still struggling to gain useful possession, with the lineouts being a particular source of concern. However Fly Half and Man of the Match Chris Joyner scored from a typical direct run. However the Trinity Guild 2nds managed to run in a third try which they converted. Final score Old Leamingtonians Veterans - 5 – Trinity Guild 2nd XV - 17 |
