The Mini
section played away against Nuneaton. The hosts provided pitches which
were just short of water logged following the recent weather.

Game 1 OL 30 – Nuneaton 25. OL try scorers Sam Farrow 1, Thomas Hoare 1, Tom Fawcett 1, Fabian Wightman 1, Kai Bailey 2. Game 2 OL 25 - Nuneaton 45.OL try scorers Elliot Kimber 2, Tom Fawcett 1, Kai Bailey 1, Sam Farrow 1. Player of match Tom Fawcett for superb work for OLs and lending himself to Nuneaton, also Oliver Wallis for all round great play. There was great work from both OLs teams even with 5 inches of mud stuck to boots!!!! Both games were friendly and very fair – thank you to Nuneaton.
Under 8 Game 1 OL 35 – Nuneaton 20. OL try scorers William Button 2, Will Fawcett 4, Bailey Wightman. Game 2 OL 25 – Nuneaton 30. OL try scorers Kieran Brophy, Callum Dixon, George Hawkes 2, Thomas Smith. Game 3 OL 30 – Nuneaton 20. OL try scorers William Button, Will Fawcett, Jack Firth 2, Bailey Wightman 2. Game 4 OL 30 – Nuneaton 25. OL try scorers Alex Barker, Kieran Brophy 2, George Hawkes, Sennan Scobie, Thomas Smith
OLs played 4 games on a gluepot pitch in Nuneaton winning 3 and losing one. Jack Firth marshalled the defensive line well, whilst Will Button and Will Fawcett both scored excellent team tries from long-range. Under 9 Game 1 OL 55 – Nuneaton 0. OL try scorers Jordan Ainslie 3, Nick Greaves 2, Tom Knight, Alex Mills 2, Louis Mitchell, Oliver Sarginson, Jamie Walker. OL’s dominated the game and kept Nuneaton in their own half for the majority of the time. Game 2 OL 5 – Nuneaton 25. OL try scorer Alex Mills. A much closer game than the first one but OL’s were overwhelmed by the greater size of some on the Nuneaton players.
Game 3 OL 50 – Nuneaton 0. OL try scorers Tom Dodd 2, Tom Knight 2, Alex Mills 2, Oliver Sarginson, Jamie Walker 2, Joe Woodward. This was a repeat of the first match with OL’s dominating the game.
Under 10 Game 1 OL 0 – Nuneaton 50. Game 2 OL 0 – Nuneaton 35. Game 3 OL 5 – Nuneaton 50. OL try scorer Andrew Swan Under 11 Game 1 OL 0 – Nuneaton 15. OL’s suffered a 15-0 defeat against a very tough and well-drilled Nuneaton team. Game 2 OL 30 – Nuneaton 0. OL try scorers Joe Blake 4, Jamie Breakwell, Edward Morgan. Thanks to some inspirational play from Man-of-the-Match, Joe Blake, OL’s raised their game and played some great rugby, despite the very poor conditions, scoring six excellent tries.
Under 12 Unfortunately, the under 12’s lost their game against Nuneaton. Scores not available. Under 15 U15's match report for Sunday 21/1/2007 Opposition – Evesham Venue - Home Score – 10 -5 win to OL’s Half time score 5-5 Try scorers – Josh O’Driscoll Tom Eales Man of the match – all the forwards! Match report – OL’s scored with 10 minutes to go, after a scything break from fly half Ryan Collins, in support full back Tom Eales crashed over the line for what turned out to be the match winning try. |
