OLs lost two out of three matches at Rugby Lions on a glorious autumn morning, despite outscoring their hosts overall.
A first game against a strong Lions team could have gone either way,
but the failure to tackle the Lions giant meant a defeat by 15 points
to 5, with Kieran Brophy rounding off a flowing move for an excellent
try. A much changed side for the final game, allowed Lions to score three unanswered tries in the first half. 9 changes at half time forced Lions on to the back foot, and tries by Josh Allen, Sam Beards and James McSharry, almost brought OLs an unlikley victory. The fightback was in vain however as Lions scored a breakaway try to gain a fortunate 20 - 15 win. All 22 players worked hard against a strong Lions squad. Some minor work on rucks and handling will ensure that we are prepared for the visit of Broadstreet in two weeks. |
