OLs arrived with 17 players so one game of 4 quarters was played with all of the boys getting half a game each.
Alcester were extremely strong in the pack so the boys played a very tactical and effective game, keeping the ball alive in the backs and away from their pack. The boys were also extremely brave in making tackles against much larger lads with the plan being to do this before they could get up to any pace. This was one of the best displays of defence ever seen from the team and man of the match, Stelios Tzirki, had an exemplary game from second row.
Although Alcester went into the lead with just a few minutes left on the clock, OLs managed to win the game in the last few seconds through a piece of brilliance from Toby Whelan. The game was also won due to Andrew Swan's excellent kicking, managing three conversions.
Final Score: Alcester 28 - OLs 31
Try scorers: Stelios Tzirki (2)
Toby Whelan (2)
James Perkins (1)
Conversions: Andrew Swan (3)
