U10 s v. Alcester

We had a squad of 12 players at Alcester and played two games - the first having15 minute halves, the second ten minute halves. This partly explains the difference in the two score lines!! Alcester had a squad of approx 15 players. First game: Alcester 0 OL's 45. It was 15-0 at half time. Most of the game was spent in Alcester's half who unfortunatley for them only got anywhere near the OL's try line on one occasion. It was a brilliant team effort by OL's with some very solid defending and recycling of the ball. Tries scored by George Pool (2), Ben Standbridge (2), Tom Boag (2), Alfie Reynolds (2) and Matthew Witchell. Second game: Alcester 0 OL's 20. A more solid defence from Alcester on this occasion. Again they only had one opportunity when they were near the OL's try line. OL's were one try up at half time. The second half started with a drive from the OL's forwards covering half the length of the pitch for Andrew O'Toole to touch down. Try scorers were Matthew Witchell (2), Andrew O'Toole and Tom Boag but it was fine performance from all players with Callum McGready getting particular notice from the coaches for outstanding effort.
