The league season started for OLs Ladies on Sunday with a loss away at
Lichfield . OLs saw a significant improvement in their play from the previous weeks friendly but it wasn’t enough to claim them any points.
Their first score came fifteen minutes into the game after several phases of play from both teams up and down the pitch. The
Lichfield centre broke through a gap and stormed for the line to score and convert. During the rest of the first half they claimed another two converted tries from switches in the centres.
The second half saw the forwards working hard at the rucks and mauls to maintain possession, unfortunately several line outs were spoiled and we lost too much possession to ELV enforcement.
Their fourth try came from a their number eight picking up at the back of the scrum for the first time in the game and creating a gap for the outside centre to charge through at pace and dive for the line.
Some strong kicking from
Lichfield ’s inside centre saw them convert all 5 tries ending the game 35-0.
OLs have their next home game against Olney at the Crofts on the 5th October.
