An exhilarating game between two ‘occasional’ veteran sides augmented by several current regular players where the result in no way resembled the closely contested forward exchanges which could have led to several Warwickian scores but all too often resulted in a breakout from defence by OLs with slick inter passing between backs and forwards alike resulting in a score at the other end. Wingers Les ‘Gripper’ Grafton and Ed Jessamine led the way with 2 tries apiece, similarly scrum half Luke Staton scored two tries ably supported by skipper Jools Carter, and centre Keith ‘Jebbo’ Jebson with 4 conversions shared by centre Rob Bassford and fullback Greg Dick. Outstanding for Warwickians were two ‘young’ OLs guests – both second rows – namely Chris Bartlett and Dave Simms, the latter scoring Warwickians only score in the opening minutes of the game
