OLs and Berkswell & Balsall played a keenly contested game with the result, yet again, going down to the wire with a score by B&B in the last minute. OLs pressed hard from the start but early pressure did not yield any points and B&B opened the scoring with a converted try after a clearance kick from OLs was charged down. They quickly added another try to open up a 12 point lead. OLs fullback Dave Pugh was hastily yellow carded but OLs responded in style with a fine try from No 8 Nick Bingham. Early in the second half B&B extended their lead with a try from an OLs mistake but OLs came roaring back and a quick tap penalty led to prop Neil Boag crashing over from the 22. OLs then took a deserved lead when skipper Lester Hunt darted over for a try under the posts converted by Kev Greenhill. For the second week running Lady Luck deserted OLs and B&B scored the winning try. A bitter pill for OLs to swallow after some excellent phases of play throughout the game.
