A squad of 16 players were hosts to Leicester Vipers, a team similar in standard to OL's Colts. The game was played with good spirit with OL's colts playing their best rugby of the season.  Joe Richardson was captain and Jake Copper the  injured captain encouraged the players from the touch line. The game started with the forwards offering a strong ball to secure and win possession and the backs passing the ball well and attacking the Vipers defence. Scrum half Jason Hobman scored an early first try after making an excellent run into space and avoiding the attentions of the Viper's backs. The ever reliant fullback Mike Tattersfield and Wil Johnson added further tries with one being converted by Tom Whelan. Vipers continued to pressure OL's and continued to make several try scoring attempts, OL's sustained the pressure resulting in the first half finishing at 17-0.

The second half continued with the same level of commitment and intensity with Tom Smith scoring a try, having made a break himself he used his strength and skill to score. Throughout the game the forwards offered a secure base giving the backs many attacking moves. Eddie Prudhoe ran positively at the Viper's backs over 30 yards to draw their players out and enabling a strong pass to Jason Hobman for him to score his second try. Mike Tattersfield scored his second try and with two conversions resulted in the final score to be 36-0

All players played very well on the day and the 'man of the match' could have been awarded to any one of them, however this honour was shared by Tom Whelan & Eddie Prudhoe.

Following the match the lads were pleased with their overall performance and are looking forward to playing Leamington next week in the local derby game.

Well done - keep the good performances up
