Old Leamingtonian’s Ladies faced a team of Old girls at the Crofts on Sunday 6th September and played a match in honour of Janine McComiskey’s retirement. After 13 years playing rugby, Janine’s retirement spurred on the ladies to organise a testimonial match. The day saw the OLRFC Comets tag team warm up the crowd with a game against Old Saltians. The Ladies match saw the Old Girls winning 15-5 with age and experience proving the success factor! The Old Girls side fielded a front row with a combined age of almost 140 nearly doubling the current front row combined age of 76! It was a great day at the club with many players returning with children and even grandchildren – “Go Granny” was heard on the sidelines! ![]() Scores came from Number 8 Ada Ajoku for the current team and recently departed Karen Coleman for the Old Girls Janine’s nominated charity was Tim's Children's Centre in Coventry offering help to children with special needs and disabilities. Through bucket collection and raffle the day raised over £170. The match also saw the Ladies team sporting their newly sponsored playing kit - Storm Studios, Leamington Spa. ![]() The Ladies have their first home league match on Sunday 11th October against Shelford. |
