Old Leamingtonians took 3rd place in the Droitwich Tournament, notable for its high standard of rugby.
An early defeat to Bredon Star by a solitary, if controversial try, was soon forgotten as OLs defeated Malvern 15 – 5, and then
Kidderminster
15 – 10. Next came a titanic struggle against hosts Droitwich, widely acknowledged as the finest side in the area. OLs scored two early tries, and although Droitwich replied, two further tries after half-time, resulted in an excellent win by 20 – 10. Unfortunately, OLs were unable to repeat this feat against Worcester, as tiredness began to show, and
Worcester
eased to a win by 20 – 0. Try scorers on the day were Kieran Brophy (2), George Hawkes, Sam Hill, Sam Forster (2), Sennan Scobie, James McSharry, Will Button and Kyriakos Grammatopoulos.
OLs travel to two Festivals on Sunday at Broadstreet and Rugby St Andrews.
