U10s Rugby St Andrews Festival

U10s Rugby St Andrews Festival   The U10s squad was split this week (18/10/09) with teams of equal strength entered into the Broadstreet and Rugby St.Andrews Festival.   Jono and Glyn led their squad at Rugby coming away a credible joint third out of a group of five.  The first match saw a 5-0 defeat to a well drilled Towcester side with poor rucking at the breakdown the main difference.   OLs were 3-0 up at half time against Daventry courtesy of tries from Alex Knight, Tom Fawcett and George Smith, but we took the pedal off the gas in the second half and Daventry did well to come away with a 3-3 draw.  We went down a disappointing 6-0 to a physical Old Northamptonians team but were able to lift our heads in the final match to beat the hosts Rugby St.Andrews 6-0 with tries from Oliver Wallis, Tom Fawcett (2), Benedict Lloyd, and Kai Bailey (2).   The boys should be proud of their performance this week with a real mix of talent on the pitch.
