OLs hosted Droitwich on Sunday, for a stern test against one of the best sides in the
Despite superior forward play, OLs lost the first match 19 – 7, as Droitwich pounced on individual errors. Jack Firth scored a consolation try; Sam Forster converting. On pitch two, OLs were on top from the off, and despite Droitwich’s fightback, edged to a 19 – 14 win. Birthday-boy Cory Bailey scored two tries with Alex Smith adding another and two conversions..
After a short break, OLs and Droitwich mixed the teams for two more games. On pitch one, Droitwich dominated but were unable to turn pressure into points. OLs eventually worked their way up field for Kyriakos Grammatopoulos to score his second try, both converted by Alex Smith, as OLs sneaked a 14 – 14 draw. |
