Old Leamingtonians U10’s vs. Kenilworth – 13th December 2009. It was Napoleon that said ‘Ability is nothing without opportunity’; today OL’s ably demonstrated this with 3 wins from 4 matches against local opposition.... Game 1 OL’s 15 - K’s 5 After conceding a soft try from the first whistle, OL’s worked tirelessly in attack and defence to secure the majority of the possession and territory. Kai Bailey scoring in each half and Cameron Jessamine burrowing in for a try to register a satisfying win for a strong OL’s line-up. Game 2 OL’s 35 – K’s 5 The score line does reflect the closeness of this game! Forward domination linked to some direct backs play saw Jamie Johnson score 2 on debut, with Sam, AJ, Archie, Edward and Alex Knight all getting on the score sheet. Game 3 OL’s 0 – K’s 30 A valiant effort from the OL’s development team showed future promise, which, with continued game time like today, will strengthen the OL’s squad further. Game 4 OL’s 10 – K’s 5The final game saw the backs from Game 1 join the forwards from Game 2, Luke Green with two well taken tries – one of which being a superbly taken interception. Thanks go to Kenilworth for providing a useful warm-up for the players involved in the forthcoming Prima Tigers match on 19th December, as well as a showcase for the depth of talent in a very well supported OL’s U10’s squad. |
