Another close away loss leaves Old Leamingtonians' 3rd team wishing that they could start away games with the same spirit that they finish them. Taking away a team with only three recognized backs players hampered the Old Leamingtonians team. A bad start saw the away team go two unconverted tries and a penalty down early on in the first half through good backs play by the home team. A penalty ten meters from the line led to a try by Neil Boag and converted by Mark Foley put Old Leamingtonians back in touch until the home team scored another unconverted try. An unconverted try by the home team early in the second half was answered by a good individual scoring effort by stand in fly-halve Neil Guest in addition to some good forwards play by Paul Brown to set up Tony Wood and both tries were converted again by Mark Foley. A fighting display towards the end of the match by both Old Leamingtonians forwards and backs was nearly rewarded in the last ten minutes but unfortunately luck was yet again not on the Old Leamingtonians side. |
