Match Result: Kenilworth U14s 19 v 38 Old Leamingtonians U14.

On a sunny, bright, but very soggy underfoot morning in Kenilworth, OLs started very sharply and pressured Kenilworth solidly for the first 15 minutes and only stubborn defence by Kenilworth prevented OLs from scoring. Eventually Dan Mills crossed in the corner for an unconverted try to relieve the pressure and then straight from the re-start Joel and Joe Blake combined brilliantly to release Joe on a typical aggressive run for the second try, well converted by Dan. By now OLs were well in command, Jamie and Sam were linking well and providing good ball for the three-quarters to run from a good solid forward platform Alex and Dan enjoyed several fine carries and inevitably another score from Alex followed to leave OLs 17-0 up at the interval.

After the break with multiple substitutions OLs took some time to settle and Kenilworth`s strong outside centre deservedly scored after a period of sustained pressure on OLs line.

This stirred up OLs again and after a fine rehearsed 3/4 move, well linked by Sam joining in twice, Dan was away again for a converted try under the posts.  Kenilworth then responded with a break-away try from their flanker before Alex and then Rhys, after a fine match, wrapped the scoring up for OLs with 2 converted tries. A late consolation try followed for Kenilworth to wind up a good open match played in great spirit in such sticky conditions by both teams and for that much praise must be given to Kenilworth`s referee Steve who allowed both teams to flow well.

Tries: Dan (2), Joe Blake, Alex (2), Rhys.          Conv. : Dan (4).
